OUR MOTTO - “LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE”

We aim to nurture both the educational and the faith dimensions of our children within a Catholic Christian Community.
Religious Education is taught daily in formal lessons or integrated in units of work which aims to develop the children's religious literacy in the light of the Catholic tradition.
The Virtues Program is an integral part of the children's faith development and the culture of the school. Virtue Assemblies are scheduled fortnightly, to which the parents are invited to attend.
Prayer Assemblies are held each Wednesday morning. Each class in turn takes the responsibility for organising these assemblies.

Our Mission Statement
Every community must have a shared vision of its aims. This is true of the St. Francis Xavier community - Parish Priest, Principal, Assistant Principals, teachers, staff, parents, students and wider community. All of these groups, after considered discussion, have developed the following mission statement expressing our goals and our hopes for this school.
Faith and Community: The school aims to develop an environment in which Gospel values may be witnessed and lived out in daily life, the knowledge and understanding of our faith developed. We aim to develop a sense of belonging to a larger Parish and world community with a responsibility of care for each other.
Communication: The school aims to develop a secure, non-threatening community, where open interchange of ideas is fostered with respect for each individual’s uniqueness.
Total Personal Development: The school aims to develop appreciation of, and respect for, the uniqueness of one’s self and others; and to encourage each individual to attain one’s full potential in academic, intellectual, emotional, physical, social and spiritual areas. All are encouraged to do their best and accept successes and challenges.
Academic Achievement: Our aim is the pursuit of excellence in education, with allowance for each individual’s personal abilities. We aim to provide an enriched educational environment within which the acquisition and development of basic skills and learning processes is integrated into the total learning experience.
Attitudes: The school aims to provide opportunities for children to pursue various academic, cultural and sporting interests. However, care will be taken to provide a reasonable balance between competition, self-improvement and co-operative team work with others.
Evaluation: The school and parents will continue to evaluate the needs of the school community.
