Teacher Librarian

Mrs Jen Craig and Mrs Lisa Duncan are the teachers responsible for the Resource Centre at St Francis Xavier. A flexible timetable operates in the Library and Computer Room and teachers are encouraged to plan co-operatively with Mrs Craig and Mrs Duncan. Every week the children have the opportunity to borrow from the Library. Each lunchtime the Library is opened for children to use. Mrs Nev Brown is the Library Assistant who works closely with the Teacher Librarian.

Learning Support Personnel

A full time Learning Support Teacher, Ms Elizabeth Graham, is available to assist all teachers, parents and children. A number of school officers work in the area of Learning Support. Their timetables and the inclusion of children on programmes are the responsibility of Ms Graham in consultation with the Leadership Team.

Our Early Years Support Teacher, Mrs Janelle Dimmock, assists and supports the teachers and children from Prep to Year 3. The Early Years Philosophy and pedagogy of learning through play, hands on activities, catering for individual needs and interests incorporating the importance of oral, gross/ fine motor development to assist learning are encouraged and supported through this role. Mrs Dimmock works in consultation with Ms Graham regarding funded children in the Early Years.

Physical Education Teacher

 

A Physical Education Teacher, Mrs Kerry Hazelwood takes the children for one lesson per week. In Term 1 and 4 swimming lessons are also conducted.

Music/Drama Teacher

The Music/Drama Teacher, Mrs Maureen Laidler takes the children for one 40-minute lesson every week. Mrs Laidler also co-ordinates the school choirs, and drama presentations.

 

 

 

French Teacher

The French Teacher, Mademoiselle Sophie Boissery takes the children from Years 3-7 for one 40 minute lesson every week. The children will learn about the New Caledonian culture as well as concerntrating on the French language.
